Import an Automation into Automation Studio

After an automation for a routine has been generated within the Automation Portal, it can then be imported into an Automation Studio project.

To import an automation into Automation Studio:

  1. Open Automation Studio if it is not already open.

  2. Open the Automation Studio project into which you want to import an automation generated in the Automation Portal.

  3. Connect to the same Real-Time server to which the Automation Portal is connected.

  4. Click Server Actions.

  5. Select Import Generated Automations.

The Import generated automation window is displayed. It lists all automations that have been generated in the Automation Portal.

  6. Select the automation to import.

  7. Click Import.

The automation is opened in Automation Studio.

Note that the project may now include a list of placeholders. These are created in place of screen elements that Automation Finder was unable to capture, or that Automation Studio could not retrieve from the server when importing the automation. To complete the project you must capture the screen elements and replace the placeholders. See Replace Screen Element Placeholders.
