Import Automations from Automation Finder

The Click-to-Automate feature available in the Automation Portal automatically generates an automation for a selected routine identified by Automation Finder. That automation can then be imported into Automation Studio where it can be modified and eventually published for use in production.

An automation generated by Click-to-Automate includes:

  • A single workflow

  • Multiple workflow steps, each with the required functions and methods

  • A decision step before each workflow step to check that the screen element referenced in the step exists

  • All required variables

  • Screen elements that Automation Finder was able to capture

  • Placeholders for the required screen elements that Automation Finder was not able to capture, or that Automation Studio was unable to retrieve from the server when importing the automation

The process of generating and importing an automation identified by Automation Finder is as follows:

  1. Generate an automation in the Automation Portal.

  2. Import the automation into Automation Studio.

  3. Replace screen element placeholders in Automation Studio.
